Sterling Silver askos jug, a specific style of antique pitcher. It is modeled to resemble an ancient Greek vessel made from an animal skin bag, which was traditionally used for oil or wine. The jug has a lobate, stippled body designed to mimic the texture of an animal skin. It is typically made of silver or a silver plate.

The handle is often highly ornate, frequently featuring figural elements such as foliage, masks, or even a winged figure. It has a distinctive feature of this particular style is the inclusion of small, fully modeled sheep or goats (often two) resting on the rim of the spout. This form was popular during the Victorian era, particularly in the mid-19th century, with notable makers including John S. Hunt and Paul Storr in London.
