Pair of matching Chinese hardwood plant stands, also commonly called pedestal tables, display stands, or lamp tables. They are constructed from Hongmu (a traditional Chinese rosewood/hardwood), which features a rich, deep reddish-brown tone and a highly visible, polished wood grain. Each stand features a square, multi-tiered top frame designed to hold heavy items like ceramic planters, bronzes, or porcelain vases.
The apron beneath the top is decorated with pierced open fretwork. This features a combination of stylized, interlocking humpback or Ru Yi geometric patterns typical of classic Ming and Qing dynasty styles. The structure relies on four straight, square-section legs. They are reinforced near the bottom by high, intersecting box-style perimeter stretchers for added structural stability.
